The film work of the Viennese artist is still one of the rarely shown treasures of Austrian avant-garde history. Moucle Blackout was artistically socialised early on in the extended environment of the Wiener Gruppe (Vienna Group), but female, experimental filmmaking remained marginalised in Austria - as well as in the international context - for a long time. Together with her later life partner Marc Adrian, Moucle Blackout was searching for a multidisciplinary form of artistic expression in this surrounding and operated in the broad field between photography, experimental film and work on collages and objects.

Her film miniatures and short works range from structuralist experiments to the field of psychedelic aesthetics, including criticism of bourgeois conventions. While the early works are considered lost today, the central cinematic oeuvre of seven short films is now available for the first time in digital form as a compilation (in cooperation with the Filmarchiv Austria). The publication also emphasises another of Moucle Blackout's lifelong aspirations: working on the visibility and social situation of female artists.
