This workshop at the Mendocino Art Center in California invites participants to discover their voice in experimental filmmaking through hands-on exercises and discussions. We will explore the creative processes behind experimental cinema and video art, learning from influential filmmakers and artists. By analyzing and deconstructing our influences, we'll push the boundaries of audiovisual storytelling and refine our creative practice.

The objectives of the workshop are to:

Join a vibrant community of filmmakers who engage in thoughtful dialogue about contemporary art & film. As a member, you’ll take part in discussions that explore the significance of your work and the work of fellow artist filmmakers. Our supportive environment fosters collaboration, culminating in our monthly Crit Session—an opportunity for members to share a work-in-progress and receive constructive, insightful feedback. Note: You must attend two sessions before you can request to present WIP.
