CineSalon Experimental Film Festival is a new festival taking place in Cork City, Ireland between September 13th-15th 2024 and online.
It celebrates personal, poetic and formally experimental filmmaking from across the world, providing a platform for film artists to share and discuss their work with adventurous audiences in a relaxed atmosphere. Curated by filmmakers, this defiantly independent festival exists to showcase the wild reeds of visionary film that ignore accepted cinematic paradigms and are all the more inspiring for it.
CineSalon has an open call out for short films. A programme of these will take place in-person during the festival to be followed by a series of programmes streaming online between September 14th and September 27th. If you are an experimental filmmaker, please send us your work for consideration – the deadline for entries is Monday August 12th.
CineSalon accepts films with a running time of 15 minutes or less and only considers films that are experimental in form. While it interprets ‘experimental’ in a broad sense, it does not accept conventional narrative or documentary work.
CineSalon 2024 also features long-form screenings, live events, and featured artist programmes and masterclasses. For more information, please visit: https://www.cinesalon.org/
This festival grew out of CineSalon, an enthusiastically received quarterly experimental film screening event that has taken place at The Guesthouse Project, Cork since June 2023.
