FRACTO will take place around the end of May 2026 at ACUD Kunsthaus, Berlin Mitte.
The 9th edition of FRACTO will bring together filmmakers from around the world and present a range of international premieres. A central focus is dedicated to Cécile Fontaine, a French experimental filmmaker known for her material-based and collage-driven approach. Working with found footage, scratching, soaking, and layering, Fontaine transforms cinema’s discarded materials into fertile ground for poetic reassembly. Her films embody a practice rooted in minimal resources, tactile gestures, and a radical sensibility of visual recycling.
This year also introduces a new section: Experimental Film Treasures #1
Shining a spotlight on full-length experimental cinema, this series invites audiences to rediscover landmark works that have shaped the landscape of avant-garde film. Celebrating endurance, depth, and innovation, these films offer immersive experiences that challenge and expand the boundaries of cinematic form.
