With the upcoming thematic focus “The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other SIDE”, this year’s CUT! Experimental Film Festival presents 8 programmes featuring new local commissions, thematic screenings, interactive cinema, and live performances. We invite you to challenge the privileged relationship between the audience and the screen, prompting reflection on the role of moving images, the mechanisms of image production, and their dialogues with the world around us.

This year’s programme invites you into a multiverse of moving images. From the revival of archives and (dis)connection to cybernetic realities, cosmic voyages, disappearing landscapes, and personal diaries, we explore whose voices are amplified or silenced in this intricate interplay.

In addition to showcasing the exciting new visions from around the globe, we hope to foster a film community that encourages critical discussions on contemporary issues while rediscovering our local Macao history through moving images.
