The second episode of our series, Collaborative Assemblages, will take place on 27 August 2026 at 7 pm.
Collaborative Assemblages / Hamburg
CLAUDIA RICHARZ / NINA RIPPEL / ULRIKE ZIMMERMANN
The starting point of this episode is a VHS tape discovered in the IMAI video archive. It contained three video works from the mid-1980s. The tape was labelled only “Touristinnen”, so it wasn’t immediately clear that the works were made by three different artists. Thorough research revealed that the works were created by Claudia Richarz, Nina Rippel, and Ulrike Zimmermann, respectively. All three lived in Hamburg in the 1980s, were part of the queer-feminist video scene—which was very active at the time—and supported one another in their projects.
Guests: Claudia Richarz, Nina Rippel, Ulrike Zimmermann
The discussion will be held in German, films with English subtitles
