BETWEEN US - INTIMACY
AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY BY CHRISTIAN FLEMM
Friday, June 27, 2025, at 8:00 PM
at Espace En Cours, 56 rue de la Réunion, Paris 20th arrondissement
Buzenval, Avron, A. Dumas metro station
Christian Flemm is invited to Espace en Cours to present his first and latest 16mm films alongside film works intertwined with his practice as a teacher and film restorer.
Since 2023, he has organized monthly Screening Salons in Berlin, presenting programs of 16mm films from his collection and inviting artist-filmmakers to exhibit their work in a domestic setting.
Subverting the proscenium arch of the typical cinematic environment, a new underground emerges, one founded on questions of privacy, informality and friendship.
Christian Flemm is a personal filmmaker, curator and laboratory technician who lives and works in Berlin. He practices Medium Intimacy, a devotional approach to motion pictures that resists the accelerations of digital through narrow-gauge images made for bedroom walls.
