I am currently translating a Master's Degree Thesis about female Black bodies in Andy Warhol's cinema. The main subject is how Warhol is using black female bodies to interrupt narration and create entertainement. I am currently looking for contemplative movies that have for main characters Black bodies that don't necessarily perform. I am thinking about Jim Jarmusch's cinema or Claire Denis and Alice Diop and Mati Diop's cinemas also. But I would like to have more exemples of Black (ideally) female bodies that contemplate. My referecences are Chantal Akerman, Barbara Loden with Wanda... Do you have any names for any films or filmakers that have that kind of vibe? It can be short movies too. Thank you!
