All Technology Is Ghost And Ruin: Open Call
VideoClub is thrilled to announce its upcoming edition: "All Technology Is Ghost and Ruin" at Silent Green, Berlin, September 12–13, part of @eCommemoration Transgressive Memory Festival 2026 during Berlin Art Week
We invite artists, filmmakers, and experimental video-makers to submit works engaging with ruin, ghost-technologies, oracular or ancestral memory, and the search for meaning in what technology leaves behind.
We scroll among remains and ghosts. Technology is possessed by demons. The labor of the eyes strikes us down, through the exhaustion of the image; the prophecies of the internet weigh on us as eco-anxiety. Who are the intermediaries between the earthly world and the divine today? What spirits do we speak with now?
In total collapse, memory is not an archive but an active ruin.
When our intelligence is tested more than ever, we turn to our ancestral technologies: oracular memory. Memory fails, just as machines do, and from failure we are reborn. Rupture is not malfunction; it is the condition through which understanding becomes possible. We do not obtain new ideas when things work. We obtain them when things break.
This is why reterritorializing our memory is a matter of life and death. The chimeras we produce are a precious stone: we are searching for the eye within the eye.
How do we find memory in what never had a history? In language, in clouds, in stones, in metals?
Deadline: August 5
