FUGUE STATE is a new art and cinema festival based in Chicago, embracing radical expression in time-based media and photography.

Programmed by M Woods, multidisciplinary artist, curator, and founder of Disassociative Productions ( www.thedigitalsickness.com ). FUGUE STATE aims to curate experimental, underground cinema, video art, and new media, including virtual reality, XR, installation design, photography, and expanded cinema submissions. Accepting work regardless of genre or narrative/documentary language. Send us your weird, absurd, heart-breaking, melancholic, radical, ineffable, disorienting, mind warping, disfiguring, abstract, horrific, militant, effervescent, incendiary, exquisite, etc...

We are seeking those artists pushing the boundaries of their media, regardless of the form; accepting of all emerging artists. FUGUE STATE is an independent festival, free from institutional influence, aimed at providing an alternative platform for transgressive and visionary work.
