EMAMI ART EXPERIMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL 2025
Festival of Indian and International Experimental Films, Video, and Artists’ Moving Image

The EAEFF 25 Call for Submissions invites Indian and International applications for experimental films, videos, and artists’ moving image works. EAEFF is a platform dedicated to curating and building discourses around alternative and experimental practices. Since its formative edition, EAEFF has emerged as a significant platform for curatorial engagements and critical interventions, facilitating a global community of filmmakers, artists, scholars and curators engaged in alternative practices in moving image making. Inspired by the legacy of avant-garde films and contemporary moving image practices, the festival creates an expanded space for projects that interrogate the materiality of the medium, unconventional narratives and discourses.

Official Selection & Awards
The selected Indian films will be screened in the ‘Competition Section’. Two films by two different filmmakers/collectives, one from the Short-mid Duration Category and the other from the Long Duration Category, will be selected by the jury for the Emami Art Experimental Film Awards of Excellence worth INR 50000 (Fifty thousand Indian Rupees) in each category. The awards are supported by the Emami Foundation and the Kolkata Centre for Creativity.

Films selected from the international entries will not be part of the competition; they will be screened in the ‘International Spotlight’ as part of the festival.
