As we are setting up the 8th edition of FRACTO Experimental Film Encounter, we would like to remind you that the SUBMISSION CALL for 2025 is now open: 

• Each filmmaker may submit up to two films.
• Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2023.
• Submissions can include short, mid-length films, and performance-expanded cinema proposals.
• The submission deadline is April 6, 2025.
• Submit your films via the link https://fractofilm.com

FRACTO will take place from May 23-25 at ACUD Kunsthaus, Berlin Mitte.

This year, the festival highlights Hungarian artist Dóra Maurer with a two-night film screening, alongside an international film selection. Known for her innovative approach, Maurer has explored diverse mediums from graphic art to experimental cinema, photography, and installations. Her work, rooted in Hungary’s independent art scene during the socialist era, often explores themes of movement, perception, and transformation.

FRACTO, founded in 2017, is an annual film festival in Berlin celebrating avant-garde and experimental cinema. The Dóra Maurer focus is supported by Collegium Hungaricum Berlin and the Hungarian National Film Archive.
