Rare Effect returns for its fifth edition from 7-16th November 2024, organized and hosted by Arroz Estúdios in Lisbon, Portugal.

The 10-day programme features an Open Call for a digital art exhibition across the venue and film programming.

"Continuing to build upon the theme of migration we explored in 2022, we are now expanding the conversation to the wider reality of obsolescence. The deterioration of cultural and natural ecologies has become increasingly apparent, and we feel that it is urgent to situate ourselves within this reality. Imagining hopeful or dire extremes, art helps us to address our position within the world we inhabit, while providing possible avenues for adaptability, perseverance, and resilience."
