What is a village? Whether urban or rural, ancient or evolving, villages and villagers are diverse and resilient with their own identities, conflicts and celebrations. What communities do we picture and what voices do we hear when we talk of ‘Village People’. Entering its 9th edition, BEAST International Film Festival is returning to Porto, turning it into the centre of Central & Eastern European cinema culture through screenings, masterclasses, workshops and several industry-related events.
Films of the Future is an international film and new media festival that invites filmmakers and audiovisual creators from around the world to imagine and reflect on the possible futures of the planet, humanity, and technology.
The festival focuses on audiovisual works that address themes such as sustainability, climate change, gender equity, LGBTQIA+ diversities, and human rights, exploring new forms of coexistence between cultures, ecosystems, and technologies.
Submit your work, or work-in-progress, for a new screening event in Folkestone, beginning next month, at an intimate venue in the heart of the town.

Jouissance is an international open call for experimental film, installation art, performance, and printed works. This NYC-based exhibition and publication opportunity is designed for artists working at the charged intersection of sensory experience, embodied cinema, erotic intensity, and psychic pressure.
After a very successful second year, the third edition of Elevation Film Festival will be based at Real Ideas Organisation in Plymouth, alongside artist installations and workshops running at Maker Heights across the water in Cornwall. The festival will take place on 2-4th October 2026.
Elevation celebrates emerging voices in artistic, experimental, and expanded cinema across southwest England, the UK and internationally.
