Almost 7 hours long, Ken Jacobs' magnum opus is a social critique of the USA, as poignant and relevant today as in the 1950s.

One of the American avant-garde's most prolific figures, Ken Jacobs (1933-2025) eagerly embraced digital filmmaking in the late 1990s.

From the monumental Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son to his Nervous Magic Lantern performances and more recent digital and 3D explorations, Jacobs's work is an uncompromised declaration of love for cinema.

  • Beyond Resolution: Films by Sabine Gruffat

    By on

Beyond Resolution is a touring program of short films by Sabine Gruffat. This series of films favors ambiguity and resists resolution. The nearer the gaze, the more obscure the view. Illegibility here is not an escape from politics, but a way of inhabiting it differently: as a site of tension, friction, and possibility. These films draw from a range of genres and layered techniques. Images are processed to draw attention to the hidden logics in software, hardware, and materiality.

    Dates:

    Sunday, April 5, 2026 - 19:30

    Venue:
