CAULDRON is an international film and video festival based in Salt Lake City that is dedicated to challenging and innovative motion-picture works in any genre or format.
Unorthodox film narratives, rogue documentaries, avant-garde cinema, video mashups, abstract video art, genre-bending storytelling... We accept all categories with an eye towards innovation, iconoclasm, personal visions, and any/all unique motion picture experiences.
CAULDRON is a swirling brew of styles and forms selected from all over the world that, now in its second year, aims to become a premier destination for radical cinema forms.
NEW CHANGES THIS YEAR:
-ONLINE EVENT
While our in person, physical festival is free of charge and takes place in Salt Lake City in February/March, we will now be running the festival online for one week in April, making our 2026 selection available internationally. The online event will be a ticketed event and the digital tickets will go on sale in March.
-THE ONLINE FESTIVAL IS COMPLETELY FREE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS SUBMITTED WORK.
If you submitted a film/video to Cauldron during this current submission cycle, you will be able to watch the entire festival for free online in April as a thank you for your support of our emerging project. You do not have to be selected for the festival to gain this perk, ALL SUBMITTERS WILL BE GIVEN FREE TICKETS.
-NEW HORROR PROGRAM
In addition to our usual assortment of media selections, we will be including a selection of horror films for one program that is specific to the horror genre.
-SUBMISSION IS FREE FOR ANY FILM ABOUT GAZA OR PALESTINE
The abominable events that are taking place in Palestine right now deserve all the attention they can get. For that reason, we will not charge an entry fee for any work that is submitted that regards the plight of Palestine.
CAULDRON IS A FESTIVAL FOR THE ARTIST CLASS.
ATTENDANCE TO MOST EVENTS WILL BE FREE, OR WILL BE MADE FREE FOR ANYONE WHO SUBMITS WORK TO OUR FESTIVAL.
SUBMISSION FEES ARE KEPT AS LOW AS POSSIBLE.
