Surrender as Process - Artist Retreat in Cape Breton

We are pleased to announce that VISIONS is opening its call for applications for "Surrender as Process", a six-day immersive artist retreat taking place in rural Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Led by Cape Breton born filmmaker Jacquelyn Mills and hosted by VISIONS, with co-facilitator Benjamin R. Taylor. 

The retreat is centered around 16mm filmmaking, but welcomes applications from creative practitioners working across disciplines and at all stages of work. 

10 applicants will be selected by a jury of established artists, applications from under-represented, under-funded and rural communities are strongly encouraged. 

The aim of the retreat is to offer participants a way of seeing their own personal practice from an alternate, fresh, and expanded perspective, and foster new relationships between artists and the rich history of the land here in Unama'ki, Cape Breton Island. 

The workshop is set to take place from September 21 to 28 in Judique, Cape Breton, NS.
