    The Northampton Film Festival, based in Northampton MA, is a small, volunteer run, and community focused festival. Although we are a small festival, the unique interests of each of our team members allow us to offer a wide variety of thoughtful programming. Last year’s tracks included feature-length narrative and documentary works, animation, experimental films by artists connected to Western Massachusetts, children’s programming, virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, cult classic events, and filmmaking workshops.

  • Engauge Film Festival - Call for entries

    “Engauge”, a new experimental film festival based in Seattle, WA, invites you to submit your work.

    Created to highlight and augment the work of the Lightpress Grants offered twice yearly by Interbay Cinema Society, “Engauge” will consider only
    films that originated on film. That means that somewhere in the filmmaking process, you the filmmaker actually worked directly with celluloid, either by loading it into a camera and shooting film, or looking through and selecting found film footage, or directly scratching, painting, drawing onto or collaging footage.

    The Moving Image Society is hosting its inaugural "Save the Archives" benefit screening! In line with our ongoing programming efforts, we want to provoke discussion about the place of analog media and its preservation in a digital world. We invite submissions of works made on or using "obsolete media" (analog video, small-gauge celluloid film like 8mm and 16mm), found footage works made with any media, and any films that are about or related to archives, preservation, restoration, or provenance.

    The Artifact Small Format Film Festival (formerly the $100 Film Festival) is the oldest film festival in Calgary (Canada), and one of the only ones in the world to EXCLUSIVELY screen Super 8 and 16mm films.

    Call for Submissions for the 27th edition of the festival are now open. We are looking for new (finished after Dec 2016), innovative, thought-provoking films from any genre that help keep the practice of celluloid filmmaking alive!

    Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival is an international festival of experimental film and artists’ moving image. Submissions of artists’ and experimental film from any part of the world are welcome: short films, features, expanded cinema, curated programmes, and moving image installation proposals.
