The Moving Image Salon is a monthly gathering in London for artists working in the fields of moving image and experimental filmmaking. It is a relaxed and open space for conversation and exchange about contemporary moving image practices, a networking event and critical forum.

Media City Film Festival's CHRYSALIS SHOWCASE will feature more than 80+ local, Canadian and international films across three days of screenings and parties (Feb. 14, 15, 16, 2020).
Events will highlight MCFF's 2019-2020 CHRYSALIS FELLOWS in solo screenings all weekend long at MacKenzie Hall Cultural Centre, with social gatherings in Common Ground Art Gallery throughout.

Edward Owens was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1949. He began practicing art in 1961 at the Art Institute of Chicago. Initially focused on painting and drawings, Owens created his first work on 8mm film in 1965. He was awarded a scholarship to study w/ experimentalist filmmaker, Gregory Markopoulos, at the University of Chicago. Realizing Owens's natural talent, Markopoulos encouraged Owens to leave school and move to New York.
The two night final showcase of the yearlong experimental film series The American Experiment kicks off with a night of shorts curated around the idea and process of image making.
