The Moving Image Salon is a monthly gathering in London for artists working in the fields of moving image and experimental filmmaking. It is intended as a relaxed and open space for conversation and exchange about contemporary moving image practices, a networking event and critical forum.

Close-Up is thrilled to present a rare programme of experimental films by the German artist Dore O. which occupy a state in-between opaqueness and translucency, hypnosis and clarity. The programme has been selected by Berlin-based archivist and scholar Masha Matzke, who will also introduce the screening.

ominic Angerame. De nacionalidad norteamaricana. Nacido en Nueva York en 1949, vive, da clases y trabaja en San Francisco. Desde 1969, Dominic Angerame ha realizado más de veinticinco películas, que han sido proyectadas y premiadas en diversos festivales cinematográficos de todo el mundo. Dos series “Cine Probe” del MoMA de Nueva York han estado dedicadas a él en 1993 y 1998. Angerame da clases de realización, fotografía y crítica en la Universidad de Berkeley y en el Art Institute de San Francisco.

Solomon’s more than twenty films and digital pieces create an interior universe that has rarely, if ever, been surpassed in any medium for its intimacy, evocation of personal sensibility, expressive dream-like sounds and images, and for its sublime—and terrifying—sense of ambiguity between the recognizable world and its dissolution.

Dream Dance: The Art of Ed Emshwiller is the first major monographic exhibition of the artist's groundbreaking work in film, video, and visual art. With an immensely diverse body of creative work, Ed Emshwiller (1925-90) is perhaps one of the most significant yet under-recognized artists of the latter half of the 20th century. Emshwiller's career spanned abstract expressionist painting, commercial illustration, film, video and computer art, and collaborations with dancers, choreographers, and composers.

Part of the film cycle, History of Experimentation on Critic and Cinema (HECC) held by professor Rubens Machado Jr. The screening programmed by Ж will have yann beauvais in presence and a conversation after the screening mediated by the researcher and curator Lucas Murari.

"Aldo Tambellini is avant-garde in the purest sense of the word. Some describe the avant-garde as the "vanguard" of aesthetic discovery. By this definition, the avant-garde is viewed as the newest of the new, the "bleeding edge" as some describe it. And Aldo's work certainly conforms to all of these descriptions. His work IS and was beyond its time. His experimentations cross media divides. He pioneered video art and is now pioneering VR at a time when some are still nostalgic for analog purity.
