For this special screening at La lumière collective, Wheeler Winston Dixon will be presenting a selection of his films from 1970 to the present, concentrating on his more recent work in HD video. The filmmaker will be present to discuss his films with Clint Enns, who will introduce with filmmaker, and conduct a Q&A session after the screening.

The CVM Symposium 2018: Exploring and Preserving Visual Music will explore the theories, histories and practices of Visual Music. It features two days of talks and presentations from international scholars, artists, students, curators and researchers (August 14-15), plus a final half day of special sessions. The Moving Image Catalog's next guest curator will be Julio Fermepín, whose selection of experimental films - entitled BEYOND THE FOREST - will be published online from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th July.
Julio Fermepín is an Argentinian filmmaker and teacher. Since 2005 he has made several experimental films which have been shown at numerous international venues, including L'Age d’Or (Belgium) and the Oberhausen Short Film Festival (Germany). His most recent film is Corriente.

For three days, Horn, a unique festival dedicated to new experimental cinema will be held in the cozy garden of Musrara Art School in the city of Jerusalem.
Each evening a variety of convention-defying films from all around the world will be screened to the local crowd. The festival hopes to break the common film festival experience by a mixture of different genres and modes of cinema: documentaries, animation and fiction in a casual and intimate atmosphere.
