With Pude ver un puma (2011), J’ai oublié! (2014) and Parsi (2019), Filmmmmmmmmmm is presenting three short films by Eduardo ‚Teddy‘ Williams at Kunsthalle Mainz. The screening coincides with the current exhibition "Freund*innenschaft — Friendship" and aims to expand its engagement with friendship as an essential part of our social order. The three films were produced in intensive collaboration with different groups of friends.
How can word and image redefine the limits of film form? OnFilm, in collaboration with the Visual Studies Workshop, invites you to this showcasing of works by Toshio Matsumoto and Takashi Ito. The first in a series of screenings at Close-Up Cinema (London) that corresponds with a new book by Simon Payne, Experimental Cinema: Structures, Systems and Strategies. Vicky Smith has been making 16mm films since the late 1980s.
Stephanie Barber is a writer and filmmaker creating poetic, conceptual and philosophical work––literary/visual hybrids that play at the boundaries of narrative, essay and dialectic.
Barber’s art contemplates philosophical questions of human and non-human existence (its morbidity, profundity and banality) with humor, pathos and imagination.
The Night of the Experimental Film is back! OFFoff’s longest-running format takes over the concert hall at Het Bos in Antwerp for an expanded edition, bringing together analog multiprojection, live music, film performances and installation.
Flesh Witness brings together contemporary artists whose work examines global histories and ongoing conditions of militarism across Asia and the Pacific. Focusing on Hawai‘i, Korea, Okinawa, the Philippines, and Samoa, the group exhibition includes artworks spanning from the 1970s to newly created work, ranging from video to sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installation that considers how military power is inscribed in landscapes, bodies, and archives.
