In contrast to the chaos outside of us, No World is a hideaway from the political , religious, social, economic issues that separate people. In a sense, there is no such place in the world like it but through art we can experience what could be possible.

Narcisa Hirsch es una de las figuras esenciales de la historia del cine experimental latinoamericano e internacional. Nacida en Alemania en 1928, aunque residente en Argentina desde su niñez, su nombre ha permanecido demasiado tiempo en la sombra, fruto de una doble “excentricidad”: ser mujer y hacer cine fuera de los espacios centrales en los que se ha construido la historia de esta modalidad fílmica: Estados Unidos y Europa.

Thousandsuns Cinema animates aspects of Media City Film Festival’s long-storied program history online. Featuring selections from hundreds of artists showcased by MCFF over its twenty-five year history, Thousandsuns presents short and feature-length films, previous MCFF commissions, fellowship screenings, retrospectives, and other cinematic endeavours connected with our activities since 1994.
Influenced by the concepts of expanded and synaesthetic cinema, Testu Collective curates and creates audiovisual performances and video installations that challenge traditional modes of visual performance and audience experience.

At the close of a tumultuous and even traumatic year, Cinematheque culminates its 2020 exhibitions withCommingled Containers: Echoes from a Bay, two guest-curated programs highlighting recent works by Bay Area filmmakers and celebrating the continuously-renewing, ever-evolving traditions of the region’s vibrant artist communities.
