Hi everyone, I'm a Hong Kong based filmmaker currently in the arduous process of self-producing and directing a film loosely based on the 2000 book "House of Leaves" by Mark Z Danielewski. The project's in no way a straight adaptation in terms of character and plot; the reason for this comparison is because there's no way of adequately condensing the genre-bending, tonally catastrophic idea of mine into simple, exciting words -- so forgive me. The film is in the post production phase, and I mostly self-financed it.
I realize I'm not sharing the specifics of this "radical" film, let me just say this: It's about the audience (us) watching a film about a film about a film about an experiemntal filmmaker from the 1940s who mysteriously disappeared. In it's entirety, the film stretches from 2000 to pressent time. It's postmodern, part horror, part character study, and ultimately terribly sentimental. I can go on...
