Call out for films and videos submissions for the upcoming 27th edition of Paris Festival for Different and Experimental Cinemas (October 2022). The festival is organised by Collectif Jeune Cinéma every year. CJC - Collectif Jeune Cinéma - was founded in 1971 following the New York Filmmakers's Cooperative footsteps. CJC is a cooperative for distribution with the aim to promote visual and cinematic experimental practices.
Call for experimental filmmakers and performance work
Visions in the Nunnery is the Nunnery Gallery’s renowned showcase of experimental film and performance art. The biennial open call is an opportunity to be part of one of the most varied and exciting presentations of moving image in London.
For each Visions we run two programmes and invite lead artists, renowned for their innovation in the digital field, to head and inspire each one. The ideas of the lead artists support the selection process and set the tone for the wider exhibition.
Every fall for the past twenty-odd years, the Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival has occupied the Casino de Montbenon (which is actually NOT a casino - but this almost-120 years old building is simply named that way) and various other places in Lausanne. During five days, the festival commits to offering an avant-garde and outside of the mainstream artistic programme, combining films screenings, sound performances, workshops, exhibitions, and book launches.

Archivio Aperto is the festival dedicated to the rediscovery of small-format film heritage - private, amateur, experimental, artist’s cinema - and their reuse, organised by Home Movies – Archivio Nazionale del Film di Famiglia.
The creation of Lumen – Rio de Janeiro’s Independent Film Festival – emerged from distinct paths: the first being a long journey of work in festivals by its founders. It was years spent programming and curating important festivals in the Brazilian scene. In this work, Gabriel Papaléo, Pedro Tavares, and Waleska Antunes, who also worked together in film production, noticed how independent films go through complex paths to reach the Brazilian audience.

This year we bring you the 9th edition of the 16mm Film Festival, a festival dedicated to photochemistry. We accept all photo chemical and handmade works. Now open for submissions, we look for unique artistic and personal explorations, films from a diverse range of contexts. These are all showcased at our festival in Mumbai.

As part of this year’s 2025 edition (May 23–25, Berlin), Fracto will be hosting a hands-on workshop on 16mm film and analog experimental practices. Participants will learn to make motion pictures and looping sound with a very economical tool: simple adhesive tape! Unfolding over the course of three mornings, students - armed with film leader, simple adhesive tape and a bucket of water - will learn to “paste” printed matter onto 16mm film frames, each ultimately producing a short loop (approximately ten seconds in length).
