    This milestone 10th edition reflects on a decade of creative and cultural exchange, showcasing works that explore identity, heritage, queerness, speculative futures, and digital storytelling.

    Altogether Without opens at SET Lewisham on 16 October 6-9PM. Save the date!

    Featuring photographic works, projected video works and light installations in a darkened exhibition space, the show stages an encounter with the (in)discernable gap between the still and the moving image. Through a play between darkness and light, the show seeks to shift and trouble perceptions of duration and the ephemeral.

  • Xcèntric - Crater-Lab / Spectral: A Programme of Expanded Cinema

    Designed in collaboration with Crater-Lab, this session presents three recent works by members of the collective, and one by Mexican Elena Pardo, one of the artistes participating in SCREEN, the international residency programme of the Spectral project. These four performances with multiple 16mm projectors, slides and other image-making artifacts and handcrafted effects demonstrate the type of work this independent collective produces in our city.

  • Will Hindle: Later That Same Night

    Between 1958 and his death in 1987, Will Hindle (b. Shreveport, LA, 1929) created ten defiantly personal and formally rigorous 16mm films that challenge the limits of cinematic form and gesture towards what writer Gene Youngblood, borrowing from Freud, termed “Oceanic Consciousness” in his landmark text Expanded Cinema:

  • MuMaBox: Microfilms

    In the context of the festival Pour Les Oiseaux

    These microfilms have nothing to do with the size of the images, but with the recurring "character" of this series: the microphone. An essential instrument for capturing sound, we never see it (unless we're mistaken): it's outside the image, confined to the off-screen.
