Labor Neunzehn and AVARIE are pleased to invite you to the fifth edition of KAMERA SERIES N° 11, featuring the work of visual artist Christine Gedeon. Working between New York and Berlin, Gedeon explores memory, disappearance, and the fragile traces of personal archives through drawing, mapping, textiles, and experimental film.

From 3 to 7 December 2025, Gedeon presents a selection of photographs, paintings, and works on paper and textile, alongside the screening of A Portrait of Michel, a video tracing the disappearance of her uncle, abducted in Damascus in 1978. Through family testimonies, found documents, and 8mm footage from 1946, the work reconstructs an intimate, unresolved story of loss.

The opening evening includes a public conversation between the artist and Syrian novelist Nihad Sirees, whose literary work reflects on political and historical narratives of Syria and on life in exile.
