Por dentro somos color, by Elena Pardo Mexico, 2024, 16mm projected on video, 13' In Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, in the state of Oaxaca, the women's organization Poj Kaa manages a community herbarium. “(...) The artist must be given more rope than necessary. He often hangs himself to experience, although this creature has a stiff neck. Give him time! Perhaps he is more aware of time than any type of individual. He is an explorer of his own dualities.(...)” Stan Brakhage. Make room for the artist.

In collaboration with Shhh, the film festival of Monokino in Ostend (26 – 27 September), Art Cinema OFFoff is delighted to welcome filmmaker Adriana Vila Guevara.
Welcome to a screening with the Basel-based filmmaker and artist Hannes Schüpbach. Since the 1990’s, Schüpbach has created a dynamic work focusing on the fine-calibrated changes of the gestures, landscapes, bodies and light. In his 16mm films, we often encounter a peculiar movement between spontaneity, intimacy and a progestically fragmented work in which, as he expressed it—the “the surroundings meet the eye” — crystallizes a form that is unmistakable Schüpbachsk.
