    A film is a cut in a cut in a cut. Lygia Clark escaped with the paint out of the frame, created in the cut, an escape cut. The screen is a frame, a defined space, that if the contents have escaped by a cut, the limit becomes the whole.

    The Festival Ecrã is an event of audiovisual experiments that thinks a different way to see the work of collaborative form between curators and participants.

  • Arquitecturas International Film Festival 2018

    In this edition, we think about fiction. Arquicteturas, a festival known for its focus on the documental moving image about architecture, now opens its doors to fictional work. The selected films will compete in four distinct categories – Fiction, Documentary, Experimental and New Talent, to which we add and award given by the public through direct polling. This year the festival will happen from the 6th till the 10th of June 2018, and will have as theme “Learning from Fiction”.

  • Festival of (In)appropriation #10 Call for Entries

    Since its inauguration in 2009, the Festival of (In)appropriation has emerged as a premiere international showcase of experimental found footage film and video, attracting the work of artists who probe the limits of collage, machinima, remix, détournement, mash-up, and more.

    Co-curated by Jaimie Baron, Lauren Berliner, and Greg Cohen, and sponsored by Los Angeles Filmforum, the Festival of (In)appropriation now invites submissions for its 10th edition, to take place in Los Angeles in November 2018.

    Moss Index is a bi-annual screening series featuring films/videos about looking at nature ("nature"), interacting with the environment ("the environment"), and investigating the border regions where the human and the not-human intersect. An invitation to look at the environment might usually imply a certain political goal, but we are interested in starting further back: decolonizing our ways of seeing and imagining alternative socio-ecologies. Plant-vision, inter-species encounters, unmapping, wet thresholds. This is not a green film fest.
