Jordan James Kaye, who explores new visual expressions in celluloid film, comes to Kanuma. A programme of his short films will be screened, including physical and visual experiments. He will also talk about his experiences at the Baltic Analog Lab, an artists' collective and film lab based in Latvia, where he spent last year. All those interested in film, collectives and residencies are welcome.

Melissa Dullius and Gustavo Jahn have been working with analog film since 1999. Both originally from Brazil, moved to Berlin in 2006 and started working together under the name "Distruktur”. Their films, mostly shot on 16mm, combine both fiction and personal archive, as well as observation and symbolic staging. In addition to the DIY approach to the production of their work, the actual projection is often accompanied by music or performance and also plays an important role in Distruktur’s artistic work.

BWater is an international & itinerant hybrid animation film festival, taking place in locations in direct proximity to water, symbol of freedom & fluidity. The festival welcomes hybrid animated short films, with a view to promoting creative freedom, enabling independent filmmakers to show their work and raising public awareness of new cinematographic forms.
