  • LSFF 2021 Platform: Colectivo Los Ingrávidos

    For LSFF 2021’s Platform showcase, we’re excited to screen the hallucinatory, kaleidoscopic works of Colectivo Los Ingrávidos.

    Since forming in Tehuacán, Mexico in 2011, the collective have anonymously produced and disseminated over 300 audio-visual works, spanning form from essay films, found-footage reconstruction, feverish shamanistic incantations and charged acts of political resistance.

  • LSFF 2021: Good Stock On the Dimension Floor: An Opera

    Both dizzying, kaleidoscopic prayer and a tenacious ode to Black selfhood, London Short Film Festival opens with the first UK presentation of HOWDOYOUSAYYAMINAFRICAN?'s 35-part experimental opera.

    The collective, an evolving line up of poets and artists from across the world including composers Kelsey Lu and TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone, abstracts and reimagines opera in any traditional conception.

  • River Thoughts Virtual Premiere at the Hyattsville Branch

    The Hyattsville Branch Independent Film Series begins 2021 with more virtual film discussions.Filmmaker Chris Lynn offers a feast for the senses in a new audiovisual experience. "River Thoughts" is a lyrical journey through the city of Nanjing, China during the summer months. Modern architecture, urban landscapes, melodies of folk songs, rainy ancient villages, and studies of the Yangtze river are carefully blended together to create a visual and aural tapestry of the city.
