    Experimental filmmaker Oriol Sánchez, also known as HH, presents his latest work in video and a performance in Super 8 and 16 mm. All the films projected in this session deal with the aggression and brutality of the medium itself, exploring the violence of bodies and alluding to the inherent destructiveness of the kinematic machine.

These films are perspectives, as seen by the filmmaker and presented to the viewer. Compositions of space between people, objects, interiors and exteriors, all within the film frame, are a critical element of what one is seeing in film.

  • New York Feminist Film Week: Homage to Barbara Hammer

    This program pays homage to queer cinema pioneer Barbara Hammer in the context of the theme of feminist film genealogies by placing two of Hammer’s films beside a work by her mentee, Joey (formerly known as Gina) Carducci, and a film they made together. Hammer’s Dyketactics articulates lesbian desire and sexuality through the physicality of the female body and the materiality of the film medium.
