Ute Aurand is a German experimental filmmaker, curator, and lecturer. In her films, she captures personal observations with her 16mm Bolex camera: visits with friends, celebrations, the changing of the seasons, intimate moments. The images come and go at their own pace; some linger, while most flit by in rapid succession, and the sound, too, begins and ends abruptly. Despite this fleeting nature, the films radiate a warmth and tranquility that is almost impossible to resist, allowing us to share in small moments of happiness.
