In 2025, Refle-x-périmental continues to pay tribute to the work of experimental film cooperatives founded from the 1960s onward, in a spirit of independence, rebellion, and (re)invention of the avant-garde and cinematic thinking. Among these, the London Film-Makers’ Co-operative (LFMC), founded in 1966, stands out as one of the most influential centers of British experimental cinema.

After celebrating the co-ops founded in New York, Hamburg, and Amsterdam, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Paris Films Coop, the winter season will open with a focus on the West Coast of the United States.

In April and May, Refle-x-périmental's screenings will honor the work of Ed Emshwiller, the first American filmmaker to deposit his films at the Paris Films Coop, in 1976. Best known for his pioneering work in the fields of video and computer-generated images, Ed Emshwiller has also produced numerous cine-dances, notably in collaboration with renowned choreographers Alwin Nikolais and Carolyn Carlson.
