Bookmarks of Discomfort is a series of screenings/presentations to bring together artists, creators who address the idea of discomfort through visual, aural, physical and textual monographs. Often we confront our true selves, an assertive voice of being through uncomfortable situations, circumstances, crisis or struggle. Unfortunately, those moments of discomfort are often grounded on the societal hegemonic, both explicit and implied codes of being, behaving, experiencing, understanding, and interpreting.

A Body (sur)renders/Un Cuerpo (se)rinde is a psychophysical (term coined from my theater practice) hybrid film screening & live performance where images, audio and movement are intertwined for the audience to experience it as a single synchronized piece. The films included, shot over the past 4 years, are a testimony of many transitions in my life and where I manifest my identity as trans nonbinary. The performance pieces connect and expand the films to make my personal/artistic process a tangible experience for the audience. (This project was supported, in part, by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant.)

Designed Reminiscence Vol.3 is the third installment of a larger screening series dedicated to sharing personal moving-image art and experimental non-fiction works that explore concepts of home.
