MICROSCOPE GALLERY (previous)

Microscope Gallery specializes in the works of film, video, sound, new media, performance and other time-based artists, from the emerging to recognized pioneers of their art forms. Conceived in the heat wave of 2010, Microscope Gallery is the realization of a recurrent dream, dissolving the barriers between the white walls of the gallery and the darkened setting of the cinema/concert hall/theater space. Along with our regular exhibition schedule, we also present a weekly Event Series complementing and expanding our curatorial programming through screenings, performance, readings and lectures. Microscope Gallery is located in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, NY.

    New York based media artist and theorist Keith Sanborn joins us at MICROSCOPE Gallery on October 9th 7PM for a rich program of his radical video works. Keith Sanborn’s work has been included in major survey exhibitions such as the Whitney Biennial, the American Century, and Monter/Sampler and festivals such as OVNI (Barcelona), The Rotterdam International Film Festival, Hong Kong Videotage, and Ostranenie (Dessau).

    Eric Cheevers is an award-winning director of films and music videos (The Walkmen, Raveonettes, Dead Meadow, Weird War, among others) that have exhibited at film festivals such as Slamdance, Cannes, the Los Angeles Short Film Festival, Cannes, among many others. In addition to museums and colleges in the US and abroad, Eric’s music videos have been exhibited on MTV, and he has been commissioned to create film pastiches of 60s-era NASA footage for use in ONE Management’s Spring/Summer 2010 fashion shows.
