    Homegrown Stories is a 12-year experimental video/sound collaboration that has resulted in the creation of over 160 pieces of moving poetry. This retrospective features the best of Homegrown Stories with several of the participating filmmakers in attendance. Please come and experience 30 short experimental films by 20 award-winning film, video, and sound artists.

    Northwest Film Forum is excited to present the Seattle debut of the work of Toronto-based filmmaker Kalil Haddad. HE NEVER DIES: THE FILMS OF KALIL HADDAD collects six of Haddad’s short films, each a display of his idiosyncratic and radical approach to the depiction and use of queer subjectivities in visual media.

    Experimental filmmaker, queer-feminist researcher, curator, and educator Masha Godovannaya reflects on her artistic practice and its many connections. Bridging New York’s underground — through the diaristic experiments of Jonas Mekas and the queer poetry of Eileen Myles — with the aesthetic resistance of Leningrad/Saint Petersburg, she weaves together legacies of Eisenstein, Kenneth Anger, and Necrorealism.
