New York screening of Ragtag and the premiere of Desire at MoMI with Tom Gunning in conversation

The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in New York will host a special screening of Ragtag (2022) and the New York premiere of Desire (2025), two recent films by Italian filmmaker Giuseppe Boccassini. The event is part of MoMI’s ongoing Special Screenings series and will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 5:00 PM in the Bartos Screening Room.

A feature-length tour of the short and excerpted films of collage filmmaker and NorCal native Craig Baldwin, never before the subject of a retrospective screened in Southern California. In light of Craig's recent battle with throat cancer, event proceeds will be donated to his recovery relief fund ($100,000+ raised and counting).

In Conversation with Christopher J. Harris

Join us for a talk by artist-filmmaker Christopher J. Harris on July 26th @ 6pm! Journeying through his eclectic Black cinema influences (Edward Owens, Mike Henderson, Ulysses Jenkins, Betye Saar and more), Chris will explore his personal and evolving relationship to the aesthetics of the Black analogue image. The talk will be followed by a discussion with not/nowhere workers.
