    For over four decades, Vivian Ostrovsky's extraordinary, enigmatic, and humorous films have been featured at international festivals. The filmmaker promotes young directors and curators value her expertise in film history. 

    The retrospective BUT ELSEWHERE IS ALWAYS BETTER presents Ostrovsky's influential work in its entirety for the first time – as a filmmaker, a passionate film explorer and a “passeuse de films.”

    Kristina Warren is a Providence-based sound & media artist using hybrid analog/digital tools to tell complex stories in relatable ways. At L&SD Warren will perform several recent audiovisual synth works, including selections from Three Rivulets (https://kmwarren.bandcamp.com/album/three-rivulets), praised as "beautifully organic" (Peter Bruyn) and "seductive and erudite" (Frédéric Cardin).   • ASTRO: A Retrospective of Giuseppe Boccassini

    The 9th edition of Beijing International Short Film Festival (BISFF 2025) presents the first Asian retrospective of Italian experimental filmmaker Giuseppe Boccassini. Active between Germany and Italy, Boccassini has served as Artistic Director of the FRACTO Experimental Film Encounter in Berlin since its foundation in 2017. His practice is research-driven, focusing on the re-assembly and re-create of found footage, archival materials, and experimental cinema.
