Media Meltdown are resurrecting the San Francisco Underground Short Film Festival at the 4 Star Theater this November! Submissions are open now at mediameltdown.tv/sfusff !
Founded by Peaches Christ and Vinsantos in 2003 at the Bridge Theatre and later revived by Peaches and Sam Sharkland at the Victoria Theatre where it ran until 2015, SFUSFF is a celebration of the weirdest and wildest of Bay Area independent filmmaking! Now, a decade later, the hosts of Media Meltdown Movie Madhouse and producers of the hit show Select Thine Own Journey, Piranha Psychotronica and Kafka X are bringing the festival back to the Richmond District with the blessing of all the original producers.
The San Francisco Underground Short Film Festival is a punk rock phantasmagoria, lifting up local, no budget, no-holds barred films. We proudly champion the overlooked and underrated, the avant-garde and the alternative, the outrageous, the oddball, and the outlandish. From bizarro B-films to midnight movie trash, we want to see your silly, your subversive, your surreal, and your strange, regardless of budget or experience level. In fact, the more DIY and handmade, the better!
Submissions will be open through the end of September so, if you don't have a film ready to submit, go make one! This festival celebrates creativity, not polish. When you're ready, head to mediameltdown.tv and send us your mutant babies
