Come celebrate 20 years of MONO with us! Free to submit your work for consideration and free to attend since 2007. OPEN CALL to filmmakers and artists of the moving image whose work incorporates S8MM, 16MM, 35MM and altered light projections as part of a durational performance, instillation or sculpture. MONO is a non-competitive exhibition that provides travel stipend and accommodations for all selected persons.
Detour is a film festival with a pure independent spirit. We believe true creativity and fine art is not entirely dependent on big budgets in order to flourish. Our aim is to support and promote films that are challenging and beautiful, those that speak to our hearts and make us think. We are looking for free-thinking films and filmmakers that create fantastic art despite the budgets and other limitations.
We want to see your best films either following a traditional narrative or a more challenging and experimental one, with true grit and low-budget mindframe.

Open call for experimental films that hold joy either in the concept or production process. The film does not need to be about joy, rather - the film may bring about joy through watching, or the process of making the film held joy.
The Cosmic Rays Film Festival is now accepting submissions from August 24 - November 16, 2026.
Now in its ninth year, Cosmic Rays is an annual celebration of short films that expand our idea of what film is and what it can be.
The Festival presents several programs of experimental short films that are formally inventive; that explore hybrid forms and the hard-to-describe spaces between filmmaking modes and genres; that speak with a personal voice; and that are inspired by the possibilities of film as art.
