Edwin Rostron es uno de los animadores experimentales británicos más interesantes del momento. Sus películas trabajan principalmente a partir del dibujo, con procesos de animación no predeterminados que permiten que se introduzcan el inconsciente y la sorpresa. Su personal estilo gráfico se funde con imaginería y sonidos encontrados, creando un universo propio e intransferible. En esta sesión veremos una selección representativa de su obra personal, desde una pieza inicial hecha en la universidad hasta sus películas más recientes.

Atrabilious Experimental Filmfest (5th ed.) will take place again at Filmhuis Cavia, Amsterdam!

Atrabilious has in a short time, managed to establish as an vanguard of new and established experimental filmmakers and video artists. Atrabilious is a showcase festival with more than 21 artist and 70 films over an duration of two days. For the 5th edition, the focus will be ‘living in time in turmoil’, the program is curated by artist Ronald Bijleveld.

Edge of Frame: Signal to Noise

Edge of Frame started life as a blog on experimental animation written by artist and curator Edwin Rostron, and last year grew into a boundary-hopping weekender at the Whitechapel Gallery and Close-Up Cinema. We asked Rostron to put together a special Optical Sound-inspired programme of shorts, and he’s delivered the goods with a selection of extraordinary experiments exploring sound and music in various interesting ways.
