On Friday 2 October, Esker Film Society will be showing four early films by the legendary and elusive Ernie Gehr. The films of Gehr are mesmerizing in their simplicity. He often employs one or two formal conceits and holds on them for a period of time, conveying abstraction through duration of repetition.
