Walden presents: Sami van Ingen

Walden in collaboration with the Finnish Institute in Sweden welcomes Finnish filmmaker Sami van Ingen. Van Ingen mostly works with film, video and installations. Whether it is in the form of large, spatial arrangements for two modified – or pimped as he himself expressed it – 35mm-projectors or films projected in 35mm CinemaScope, or smaller formats like Super-8, 8mm or 16 mm, his activities is characterized by an intense, exploratory and yet playful work with the hands.

Cinema Parenthèse #9: Land/Scapes 3 - Werner Nekes

In the 1960s, WERNER NEKES (1944-2017) began making films and experimenting with different film stocks to scale the possibilities of the medium. Free from narrative and psychological aspects, the films are organized according to temporal units and structural systems as they focus on aspects of representation. In a direct dialogue to pre-cinematographic optical techniques – with different ways to create illusion of movement - Nekes referred to his films as ”light theater”.

Gunvor Nelson - Call to Mind
Call to Mind contains the films My Name Is Oona (1969), Time Being (1991) and Red Shift (1984), a trilogy with the family as a theme. True To Life (2006) functions as a separate comment for the other films. The Blu-ray box includes a catalog with texts by Astrid Soderbergh Widding, Susanne Forest, Steve Anker and John Sundholm, in Swedish and English, as well as a large number of still images.
