Con motivo del ciclo El ojo en la materia. Dziga Vertov y el cine soviético temprano, que organiza el Museo Reina Sofía en colaboración con la Filmoteca Española, el cineasta Peter Kubelka imparte un taller de creación fílmica orientado al debate y la experimentación. En el taller, Kubelka presentará y debatirá su trabajo con los asistentes.

Peter Kubelka is a historical figure of independent cinema. He has been invited in April 2017 by the Centre Pompidou for a cycle of conferences on his cinema and the premiere French presentation of his latest film "Monument Film".

This book is a document. It’s an account via images of the evening of June 20, 2016, spent in Vienna in the company of the artist, Peter Kubelka. With his wife Luise, Kubelka had invited some friends: the photographer Heinz Cibulka and the filmmaker Jonas Mekas who had come with his son, Sebastian, specifically to film the party.

It is an exploration of the many alternative film forms developed by innovative figures such as Jonas Mekas (USA), Peter Kubelka (Austria), Guy Sherwin (UK) among many others. These paths of discovery lead us to encounters with numerous production and distribution institutions created specifically for experimental films.

La editorial Paris Expérimental—creada en 1985— se ha convertido en un peculiar lugar de encuentro entre el cine experimental y su historia. Binghamton Babylon: Voices from the Cinema Department, 1967-1977
In Binghamton Babylon, Scott M. MacDonald documents one of the crucial moments in the history of cinema studies: the emergence of a cinema department at what was then the State University of New York at Binghamton (now Binghamton University) between 1967 and 1977. The department brought together a group of faculty and students who not only produced a remarkable body of films and videos but went on to invigorate the American media scene for the next half-century.

Free Radicals: A history of experimental film
